KIM Jong-un will send top officials to scour the country for young women to form a “pleasure troupe” to entertain him, according to The Telegraph (UK).
The North Korean leader has reportedly decided it’s time to reintroduce the idea of a group of young women to sing and dance for him after the obligatory mourning period following the death of his father, Kim Jong-il.
Tokyo’s Waseda University’s North Korean expert Toshimitsu Shigemura said Mr Kim ordered his father’s group of women disbanded after his death, only he has now decided to reinstate the traditional form of entertainment.
“The women who entertained his father knew many secrets and they have now been ordered to promise not to reveal any information before being sent back to their home towns”, Prof. Shigemura said, adding Mr Kim “can have a new entertainment group who only have loyalty to him.”

The idea of a “pleasure troupe” was introduced under Kim Jong-un’s grandfather, Kim Il-sung. He brought beautiful women — some as young as 13 or 14 — to the capital to serve as dancers, singers, maids or concubines.
Prof. Shigemura said the girls were taken without parental consent and became close to military leaders, often learning their secrets.
They have since been ordered not to reveal any information and sent back to their hometowns with a lavish pay-off and home appliances, the Professor said.
Kim Jong-un married former singer Ri Sol-ju in 2013 and the couple have a daughter. He will make his first international visit since becoming North Korean leader in May with a visit to Russia.
